The University of Leeds has a long history of world-leading energy research that continues to the present day. The School of Process, Environmental and Materials Engineering (SPEME) provides the focal point for much of this research activity. This vital new academic position will enhance our research and teaching in the area of chemical engineering and offer you the chance to carry out internationally leading research and inspirational teaching. We want your world-leading research profile in chemical engineering to help lead and promote our activities within the broad thematic area of Energy. We are especially interested in applying your skills and expertise in the nuclear engineering area, which is currently a growth area in terms of research and education.

As you develop world-leading research activity, focusing on the strategic development and implementation of energy research in a chemical engineering context, you will also establish and maintain a high quality output of research in leading, internationally recognised, publications. You should also be able to translate research excellence and scholarship into learning opportunities for students.

You will be an engineer/physical scientist with a PhD (or other doctorate) in a relevant discipline or equivalent research, or an expert from industry with in-depth knowledge in chemical engineering. You should also possess the leadership ability to build interdisciplinary teams for collaborative research and be committed to delivering research-led teaching and integrating research with learning and teaching to deliver world class student education and an exceptional student experience.

Salary

The salary, which is negotiable, will be within the Professorial range - minimum £59,302 p.a.
