In the light of its strategic commitment to ensuring a top-ranking internationally, ahead of 2012-13 the School is investing in a significant number of new and replacement posts at professorial and senior lecturer levels. The person appointed to this key post of Professor in the Study of Religion will be a researcher of outstanding international reputation, able to provide leadership in developing Theology and Religious Studies (TRS)'s excellent research and teaching in religion/theology and public life.
The Professor in the Study of Religion will have a sustained record of publication of the highest standard and of major international significance, and will be able to make an outstanding contribution to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014. S/he will develop excellent teaching/learning across all TRS programmes and at all levels, working to ensure the highest quality student experience. S/he will play a key role in shaping a strategic vision for TRS at Leeds, and in academic leadership and management within the school, the faculty and the university. A track record of significant success in attracting research funding, and/or of excellence in impact and knowledge transfer activities, is highly desirable.

Salary
The salary, which is negotiable, will be within the Professorial range - minimum £59,302 p.a
